Not sure if this is the right place to post, but here goes...I am about to buy a car and the buyer has requested that I do the financial transaction through a website with the following address. I am just a bit worried that it is a con or a phishing scam. What do you think? Have any of you used this service? http://protection.help-yahoo.co.uk

Is the car coming from abroad? If not I can't think why the seller would want to use an escrow service like that in your link. As far as I can see the site is legit but the whole process is open to abuse. What if the seller has access to your emails or other ID. All he needs to do is confirm that he has shipped the (possibly non-existent) car (he could just as easily ship a pallet of bricks), then access Yahoo Shopping on your behalf and confirm that you are content. Yahoo release your funds to him and off he goes.

Yip, the seller and car are in Spain. I really hope it's genuine, but it smacks a bit of "too good to be true"!

First, I would not bye a car from abroad over the net, 2ND, I would not trust the sale as their requirements of law are totally different that ours so you do not know of the complications or comebacks ( If any) 3rd It seem that you have made the choice, 4Th, you have had some advise, 5Th safeguard your money do not bother.
