Does anyone have experience of using this herb? It sounds like a cure all...but there are some articles which say its dangerous because it has chemical additives...

Hi Lottie - I'm amazed how many people I know who are on them too!
I must admit to being really surprised when I had my cholesteral checked for the first time a couple of years ago, because even tho' I'm quite lean, it was at 7.4. The gp I saw then, preferred not to give 'statins' & I was advised to just watch what I ate, etc.
It did come down slightly without medication, but because of my unpredictable ticker, another gp insisted I was put on Simvastatin (& now Beta-Blockers for life). I've been checked since then & it's now down to 4.5, so I'm quite relieved about that! ;o}
