Considering this is a Religion and Spirituality site, I thought that once in a while, we should think about the goodness of God. Since I believe in Spirituality and not Religion, my belief in God is of an all-embracing, universal God - one of pure love. A love which is immeasurable and transcendent. No rules or instructions or even restrictions - I suppose. However after afew long days, I am very tired but since it's been in the back of my mind to do this and as much as it nearly kills me to say these words as I'am not generally a soppy person -
I would like to spread the 'Love' that I believe is of 'God' to each and every one of you who have ever used Answerbank in the past or present or in the future and we should all think about the good things we have in life and the happiness and joy of our lives. This is so rubbish, but I just wanted to spread some love and happiness to you all as a believer.
If there is a God, it is a god of pure indifference.
Even this is a step beyond the hideous Hebrew God of murder, hatred and revenge.
If you want to spread love then I suggest you drop the word God entirely. Especially the capitalised name, be it God, Yhw, Allah, Jehovah or Jesus Christ, for these all are names that represent the idols of primitive minds.
Sorry Chakka35, I will have a look for it. If I don't respond then I haven't found it. Thanks guys for your support. I'am not one to talk about personal stuff, it just seems so naff. Although I will listen to anyone else. Everyone has difficulties, its life. Some people are lucky and others aren't. I like that Bruce Willis film -Unbreakable - for that reason. But thanks again and Beso - I understand what you're saying and how another person can interpret the word 'God' from their experiences but I use the word with a feeling of Love and if someone misinterprets that then the way I see it, that is really their problem.
I find it all quite funny, I know I shouldn't, but I do (laughing) - that is until it gets nasty. Then I think I've caused enough trouble and should log off!
