............ My supplier Curry's, tell me that they don't usually supply the electric cable from the cooker to the mains but will fit it for me for £46.00 which I think is a rip off.
Anybody connected their own cooker?

yes o did and it was a doddle. I asked raysparx for some advice but it wasd really reallt simple.
it's just a case of connecting the thick wire throught the white pastic connector thingy and making sure the funny scres are tightened properly, dead simple

Get it wrong and it's bye bye house.
Nah... Get it wrong and it's "Oops the fuse tripped out again"

Really easy to do and £46.00 is a rip-off!
.. or bye bye life
Yeah fair point Mr.Button!
Best to turn all the juice off before going near the mains with a screwdriver!

Yes me. It's only like a giant plug. put the wires in the right place and Bob's your uncle. And I fitted the new hob and I plumbed in the new dishwasher ( had to alter the pipes ) . Make sure you get enough cable to fit the cooker pulled away from the wall.
Yeah that's exactly what i did, I'm not a complete idiot, but it really is a simple job.
I fitted my own electric cooker in my last house,it was really easy and I never had a problem with it over a period of 6 years.
if you need to ask then don't do it!

Sorry for delay in getting back to you ............The rule of thumb for cooker circuits is:

32A MCB or 30A fuse
6mm flat Twin+Earth cable It's quite thick and unwieldy so allow enough slack.
