Andrex quality took a nosedive when they switched manufacture to eastern Europe.
Scoot down to Lidl right away. They have Charmin on offer at 6.49 for 24 rolls! Good stuff and much better than Andrex. Grab a couple of packs.
I haven't bought Andrex for a couple of years now...back to the Izal for me. ;o)
I have 'soft, soft, soft' Triple velvet or supermarket's own, but not their cheapest!
I think Asda's own are really good.
hi Nicky toilet rolls are the best Farmfood stock them at 2.99 for 12 soft and thick great buy
Andrex 'PUPPIES' only are the best. Some loo rolls are too thin & don't flush away & some too thick like 'Kleenex Velvet' which block the drains!
I agree, We always used to buy them and have also noticed how thin they have got just lately.

Like monty0703, have also changed to asda's own brand and they are much thicker and better, without being harsh on your botty.
Well you cant say bum on here can you?
Lol
Andrex Quilts are the best ever. A bit more expensive, but well worth it.

heathfield, I went to Lidls yesterday after seeing you got 24 Charmin for 6.49 ------ what a ripoff-- in N. Ireland we are being charged 9.99 for same amount.
Once, obviously by mistake, one of our newspapers carried a (uk) Lidl advert, but when we got our flyers, we were being asked to pay 25 more for 5 articles than the uk version( not food).
i use sainsburys basics stuff. you can get twelve rolls for 1 pound something it is thinner, but even if you have to use more it works out cheaper
Sorry to hear that, Jinglepot. Our local evening paper runs a feature on Wednesday evenings on available store discounts. In Lidl's case, these discounts are usually available next day. Occasionally, I find an item isn't discounted, despite the report. Sometimes just the shelf price ticket hasn't been changed, sometimes their checkout computer hasn't been updated, and sometimes staff will say that the discount doesn't come into effect until the following Monday. Again, an offer may only last for a week, or, it may last until all the stock is sold. Hard to tell how long a discount will last, though the staff in our local Lidl are pretty helpful with advice. Better luck in future!
Thanks heathfield, I'll check their flyers carefully.

I phoned Lidl's to query why we in NI were being asked to pay 25 more than the mainland for those 5 articles. Their excuse was cost of transport. An overrated piece of fudge I think. Ah well, back to Tesco or Asda!
Iceland do Premium Petal Soft, 4 rolls for 1.50. :)
Iceland's 'Premium Petal Soft' is 3-ply and is an excellent buy, especially as it is often reduced in price. Recenty, however, I have not seen it on the shelves. A similar brand "Petal Soft" (also 3-ply and very good) seems to have taken it's place.
Does anyone know what has happened to the Premium brand? Are the 2 variants actually the same?
