Taxi drivers told them that prices can be seen rising daily and my friends didnt buy anything of substance as the prices were ridiculous!
Apparently with the rise in number of cheap flights and stag parties going over, the prices are starting to rise in line wiht the rest of europe.
Hi, Just got back on Friday. I have been travelling to Prague since 1974 on and off. Last week was the first time for five years and, yes, it's more expensive. It is still possible, though, to buy a beer for about 70 pence, and a main course (Czech style cooking - if you want guidance, please ask!) for 2 or so. On the other hand, they now have McDonalds, and though I didn't go close to one (!) I did look in the window of a "Subway" (as I think their food is at least healthy) and to my horror, the prices were the same as in my home town, Crewe! Yes, you can use a debit card anywhere, but don't expect to pay a 2.50 bill with it; get cash froma machine. By the way, the exchange rate seems to be better in Downtown Prague than in travel agents here. I would take 100 and a card in case you decide to stay for ever!
Thanks everyone.
Going away this weekend and im having a sudden panic. Money, clothes, weather, must-see's etc. We are staying at the Rokoko Hotel (City centre, Wenceslas Square). Any more advise would be well received please, eg websites etc. Is a bus / walking tour a good idea? Are there any really good pubs nearby where we are staying?
Thanks again
