I bought a gammon joint for £2.99 and it has provided 5 meals for 2 of us:
boiled and sliced, served with pease pudding, mashed potatoes and broccoli
enough pea and ham soup for 2 meals
sliced ham for sandwiches for 2 meals
oh, and the bits added to a filling for a quiche
Not bad eh? Nearly beats the number of meals one can make from a small chicken!
Has anyone else managed to get more meals than this out of one item, (I'm sure someone will have done so)?

I'd not had any before but I like to try 'old' receipes that I get from my Farmers Weekly Receipe Book. I did add more seasoning and a sprinkle of herbs as I thought it might be a bit bland otherwise. We both liked it. And I put the left overs into the soup to use it up.
