If your friend likes caravans then they are perfect. Very spacious and every bit of space utilised. Easy to maintain and usually like minded people as neighbours. Make sure the plot is freehold. A new single is about 70,000.
I've known several people who've lived in 'park homes'. The general feedback is good but I'd advise getting a solicitor to take a thorough look at any agreement which your friend might consider entering into.

The other thing to remember that unlike 'bricks-and-mortar' the value of park homes decreases over the years rather than increases. If your friend has nobody to leave her estate to this will be unimportant - otherwise it's a very important consideration.

When purcasing any property it's always a good idea to chat to prospective neighbours but I'd suggest that this is particularly important when considering a move to a park home. Ask about heating costs, insurance, exactly who's responsible for the mains services, etc.

Hoping this helps,

Chris
My husband and I are considering moving in a few years time and have considered the possibility of buying a park home. Can you live in these all year round?
