can any one tell me what stevenage leisure park and surrounding buildings was built on and any history relievent to that area

Stevenage lies just east of the A1(M) motorway with nearby towns including Letchworth (5 miles north), Hitchin (5 miles north west), Welwyn Garden City (7 miles south) and Hertford (9 miles south east). The town was developed after World War II around the original Stevenage, now called Stevenage Old Town. The Old Town still has historic buildings, coaching inns and pubs. Stevenage Leisure Park is situated near to the train station and includes a cinema, ten-pin bowling alley, restaurants and pubs. You can learn more about the history of Stevenage Leisure Park by visiting Stevenage Museum which is situated near to the centre of the new town.

Two stars still to be earned !!! I know Stevenage pretty well, but I have no knowledge of any historical happenings in the area of the Leisure Park. Have you got something in mind? If so, give me a clue and I will follow it up.

a family member works in the computer offices next to the leisure park and themselves and others have reported the presence of a ghost and was just wondering if some thing had happened b4 these building were built

The six hills which are a prominence in Stevenage are tumuli or Round Barrows dating from the Bronze Age. According to legend the hills are spade fulls of earth taken from Whomerly wood and thrown at the town by Giants or the Devils intent on destruction. The last shot went well off mark and knocked the steeple off Gravely Church two miles away. Unexplained earthworks and standing stones around Stevenage are often seen as the work of the Giants or Devil, and frequently in these areas are shadows and blurred groups of moving people, sometimes with whispering and groaning. Later, during the English Civil War, Stevenage served as camp for some of Cromwell's troops. There have been many reports of Roundheads seen in both the Old and New Town in the evening at twilight particularly as the light begins to fade. There are many modern eye witness
accounts of the hauntings of the Roundheads and their followers, and sometimes they physically interfere with things such as doors, papers, lights, candles, etc.. Near Stevenage is Clop Hill where  the church is built in the opposite direction to Jerusalem. There have been many hauntings here as it is the focus of devil worshippers that sacrifice innocent people and then chant and leave symbols of each sacrifice. They also taunt innocent people and hang them on the haunted trees in and around Stevenage. In the Clop Hill church there are the graves situated around the church in a semi-circle and placed on top of one another from which eerie noise's that can be heard inside the church.

Also in Stevenage there is St. Nicks church where In the late 18th century a grave diggers dog died of a painful unknown disease. Some say that the bell ringer poisoned the dog because of its constant yapping, but, either way, today the dog can frequently be seen running in mid-air around the church. As the whole of Stevenage and the surrounding area is densely and actively haunted your family member may be thought fortunate to have been troubled only in the Leisure Park area.
