snotty sort of bounder by Bone B?A?S any ideas? could it be to do with the charlie bone children's books?thanks

I know there are sea novels by Captain David Bone, one of which is The Brass Bounder, but the 'snotty' connection is either obscure or,as so often is the case in the TLS, just a weak clue.
