Info on Broadmoor and Rampton

I have just read some answers posted for a question referring to Broadmoor and Rampton prisons and found them interesting. I was wondering if anyone knows where I can find out more information on places such as these. The reason being, I am writing a fictional novel and one of the characters is a prisoner (patient?) in such a place for murder. The type of info I require is things such as the decor, what rooms are like, reception, etc..What type of staff work there, are they armed? Types of medication used. Security procedures etc... I realize this is probably a strange request, but if anyone could possible point me in the right direction or know of any websites or reading material containing such information, I would be very grateful.

Wilst I applaud your efforts,I think you are going to find it tough going.Yesterday(and Today) I "Googled" for sites to do with Rampton & Broadmoor.Whilst there a few sites from the relevant Health Authorities that control these hospitals,there was nothing more.

I get the feeling,than like "ordinary" prisons these Authorities are not going to reveal any of the inner workings of these institutions(for obvious reasons) I feel they probably come under a sort of NHS "Official Secrets" Act!
