changing ceiling spot lamps

I have spot lamps fitted into my kitchen and bathroom ceilings but have difficulty reaching them safely if one needs to be replaced. I'm wary of being precariously perched on a step ladder and have some recollection of seeing an advert for a pole with a kind of suction cup on one end designed to help with the job. Has anyone else seen this gadget and hopefully might help me find one. Thanks.

Not being funny, but wouldn't asking a friend if they could do it be easier. Gadgets aren't always what they are cracked up to be anyway.
Waggling a spot light around, stuck to the end of a long pole?
I think you've been reading too many of those catalogues that promote solutions to problems that don't really exist in the first place.

You're probably right Postdog but I'm an independent sort of person and like to do things for myself if I can. Buildersmate, what I saw in a catalogue - but forget where - was a pole with a suction cup on the end that was supposed to grip the light bulb firmly, but perhaps it's a case of seeing is believing!
