Compatible inks?
11 Answers
I have bought some of those inks that are much cheaper than the recommended ones. The colours are not so good - they look a bit washed out. (I know, I should've splashed out on the real thing).
Is there anything I can do to improve the finished pics?

Hi Mrs. Chappie, hope you don't mind me butting in but I wondered if you got your real memory updated? I got 1gb from Crucial (£30) as chuck suggested. Easy peasy to fit and the difference is amazing! To stay with the thread, I need new inks too, so I had better go with the proper ones by the sound of it. Shirl
Hiya Shirl. Yes I did get an upgrade. I took the puter into a little computer shop fairly close to where I live and the chap fitted it while I waited. Only took him a couple of mins. I can see a big improvement with the speed now.
Going back to the ink - I cleaned the nozzles (I didn't have to physically do owt, just clicked on 'Clean Nozzles' and I clicked on something about realignment (wish I understood more) and the quality became much better. It's still not brilliant but it's good enough for what I want to do.
The difference in the price of the compatibles and the genuine ink is huge. If you are thinking of trying a compatible, I would search for some reviews before giving it a go. I'm sure some will be better than others. And as SB says, it could bu88er up your computer. I didn't mind taking the risk because my computer's life is coming to its end (I think).
