I am going to spain and wanted to know if I can play my MP3/CD player through a TV's speakers rather than take seperate mini speakers. Is there a connector that would allow this and would the TV be ok as it isn't mine, any advice would be welcome!

Get youself a lead that has a (mini, if appropriate) headphone jack at one end (to connect to your player) and 2 "phono" style plugs at the other (to connect to the TV).

If the TV has camcorder style inputs (3 phono sockets, usually coloured red, white and yellow) use the red and white sockets as appropriate to input the sound. The TV will need to be on, and those inputs are often channel AV3.

Otherwise, you can get something that will plug into a SCART socket that has 3 "phono" style sockets in the same colours. Some are switchable for input or output (you need to input the sound to the TV). Connect as above and select the appropriate channel on the TV.

The above assumes that Spanish TVs are pretty much the same as ours, but many "Pound" shops carry the lead and plug for a quid or so each, so you're not losing much if they don't!

Failing that you could buy an FM transmitter( I paid about 9 on eBay) and play the tracks through an unused FM frequency on any radio( I use mine at work, home and in the car).  You just match up the frequency on the transmitter and the radio and hey presto!
