Any suggestions for what to take to a new Mum who's a bit down?
I'm going to visit a friend who has just had her second baby. She had a section, her toddler has been quite unwell, and her own mother is ill also. I'm going round tomorrow to take the baby out for a couple of hours so that she can have a sleep and was wondering what to take round to her. Her husband is very helpful, but he too is worn out.
I had wondered about a few microwave meals so that they could at least eat without having too much bother, but I would welcome any other suggestions from anyone out there.
Thanks in advance

I stand by my contention.

Just to update everyone who replied....I went round with some lasagne, apple pie and chocolate brownies and you'd think I'd given her the world. As the weather was (and still is) so awful, I stayed there looking after the baby (beautiful little boy) whilst she sloped off to bed for a much needed sleep. (The toddler is much better now and back at nursery.)
Thanks for all your suggestions. I'm going back to do it again on Friday, so any further ideas would be welcome.
