Best hotel near Auckland airport

We are having a one night stay in Auckland, does anyone recommend one in particular. Thanks.

Not that near the airport but the Langham Hotel in the centre of Auckland is very nice, about 15 minutes by bus. It was doing a great special offer when we went there in March and the people are very helpful (let us check in 8 hours early)

I think it'll take you a bit longer than 15 minutes to get to downtown, but if you have the time there are plenty of hotels there. If you really only have overnight, there are hotels and motels within a few miles but I haven't stayed in any of them and can't give a recommendation.

I may have got the timings wrong as it was 6am and I had just come off a 13 hour flight from LA!! Just checked the timetable and its nearer 27 minutes.

fair enough, at 6am you could just about do it if you beat rush hour (or if it was at the weekend).

The Hilton on the waterfront was very nice and a good base to have a look around the city centre.
