But could be slack fan belt, worn wheel bearing, binding brake pad or grit between brake pad and disc.
Check tension on fan belt. Get mechanic to check wheels for wear. How are brakes behaving any noises when braking ?
Is it a squeal, whine, rumble or tapping and where does it sound like it's coming from. i.e. uinder the bonnet, from the wheels front or rear of the car. Any other clues to help narrow it down.??
I used to have a Honda Civic Coupe 1.6i SR VTEC. It's difficult to specify what sound you're describing without listening to it. Common noises are the catalyst heat shield or the catalyst itself. The front pipe flex can also make a noise.
Have you tried blipping the accelerator? Or slowly increasing the RPM until you hear any noice?
If you can't hear anything by doing this then it might even be a problem like how FastBarry described.
