Greetings each.
I'll bet no-one will know the answer to this one!
At what point (if there ever is one) can a traffic light deemed to be faulty when jammed on "red", be legally passed (with care of course) please?
Cheers.

I don't know the answer for sure but I was thinking the same as Toureman, even though I did drive through a red light near Heathrow Airport last year. It was a temporary traffic light, which was in use whilst roadworks took place. Being so early in the morning, I decided that enough was enough after about 10 minutes. When passing the lights at the other end, I was furious to notice that it too was jammed on red!

If it came to going through a red light because of a faulty traffic light system & I was waiting for a long period of time, I would first take details of the Roadworks, approx times of waiting, the area, any other motorist as a witness, their reg No, This IS IF I GOT BOOKED, It can be proved by the time device within the traffic light unit, Without going in to Bla Bla Bla, a few years ago, a HGV Driver got booked in Birmingham UK FOR WHAT THEY SAID going through a red light, he took the time off work ( Not sure of time) to check that he had got his facts right, the court ruled in his favour, He was let off with costs awarded to him, If anyone within the Birmingham area UK remembers this Please enlighten us with the facts.
