I had experience last year.

Due to the sweltering heat I noticed on our wheelie bin something which looked like white bread crumbs, thinking they were breadcrumbs I went to scoop them up in my hand using my fingers to actually put them in the bin.. my finger moved only about 1cm and before I knew it these "breadcrumbs" came alive wriggling away..they were maggots! I nearly was sick and washed my hands for ages it was so disgusting and we blasted them away with the hose opened the bin and there were what looked like hundreds in there.. took ages to get rid off.

So beware of stuff which looks like crumbs
