tattoo cover make up, does it work?

For my forthcoming wedding I bought a "pan cake" dermablend sample kit to cover a couple of tattoos on my arms, but am really disappointed with the results. Far from looking natural as it promises i have 2 heavily covered patches on my arms which i can still just see my tattoos through - the colour is a good match but the results leave a lot to be desired. Any advice anyone?
