HELP! I have spent 2 days trying to work it out !!

Below is a code and will give a saying or phrase.....

Have passed this over to my husband,who is complaining he is bored,he has been unwell and has been ordered not to gad about so much,so trying to unravel this will keep his grey cells from fading away. Will come back if and when he solves it, hopefully,but don't hold your breath. Merry Christmas.

Given the time of year, the first word could be HAPPY or MERRY but haven't gone further than that...

which I guess i is "someone" wishes you a merry christmas and a happy new year"
Barry,Garry,Larry,Harry? cuold be anything really.

Has anyone noticed there are no E's in this puzzle

The letter L in the code stands for H

Its a substitution code:

ZMOOW RKILCI WSY M FCOOW BLOKIUFMI MDV M LMAAW DCR WCMO

I assumed it had the word christmas in it and BLOKIUFMI was the only place that would fit This then made FCOOW M?ERRY which I guessed was Christmas. The rest pretty much fell into place.

However, Z isn't mentioned and so cannot be detrmined. It could be BARRY, GARRY or LARRY.
It isn't HARRY ad H was in the code.

There are 46 letters in the clue not 32,as in merry christmas and a happy new year, and what about the Z and V and 2 'sF and 6 W's and 2 k's, 7M's 6 0's and countless others that are used more than once. hmmmmmm,mind boggling to say the least,is there anybody out there from Bletchly Park, lol
