why is my gear stick sticking when i put it into 1 and 2, it doesnt always go into 2, its rather stiff, the mileage on my car is 39339 and its in gud nick, so whats happened and what would it cost to repair thanks in advance

Sounds like the gear linkage needs replacing. Parts cost approx £40. A Vauxhall dealer will charge approx £140 for the job. Try and find a good independent garage and get it done cheaper.

Hi Suzie, when getting the car checked as them to check the adjustment on the clutch, your car will be self adjusting I have a feeling it's the clutch.

thank you paul, it is the gear linkage, booked in for next week, still driving it about though...just hope i dont damage sumat else in process.....thanks to all of you for your helpful input, merry xmas xxx
