Booked a flight on Easyjet.com a month ago which is now costing exactly HALF the price of what it was at the time. Am I entitled to a refund of the difference in the price?
Im pretty sure Im not.
Im surprised to see them lower the price so dramatically especially as the flight is in less than 2 weeks time, and I have always thought that price goes up as less seats become available on the plane.
Just feel mad at having to pay so much more for trying to be sensible and booking in advance.

You are assumming there are less seast on the plane now than when you booked your ticket. Maybe there have been no more sold or there are many more seats left than expected at this time?

Once I've booked my tickets/holiday I don't loook at prices again lol
I am exceedingly puzzled as to why they are lowering the fares at this late stage, instead of raising them. Usually, there are only a set number of "cheap seats" on any flight, and once those have gone, only the regular-priced seats are available. They may have slashed the prices because the plane is still relatively empty, or because they are engaging in a bidding war with one of their competitors.

I travelled with Easyjet just 2 days ago, and the difference between them and Ryanair is a stark one. All in all, I had a pleasant flying experience.
Normally as a plane fills up the seats get more expensive.

But maybe this plane has NOT filled up and they now need to sell the seats at any price.

Expecting a refund though is a bit much. If the seats had gone UP would you have expected to pay the extra. No.

And if you got a refund then EVERYONE who paid more than the lowest price for a seat could expect a refund.

Normally it IS good to buy early to get the best price, but it is a bit of a gamble. In this case you lost, others times you may win.

VHG- Yes, they do refund if the price goes down:

"2 Price promise

Any easyJet passenger who has made a booking and subsequently finds that lower fares (when taken together with all applicable charges) for the same easyJet flight have become available will be refunded the difference as a credit against future flights on easyJet. The only exception to this is if the lower fares are part of a promotional offer. Please note that each Journey will be treated separately. This credit will be valid for use against bookings made within 6 months from the date of issue. It will expire at midnight on the expiry date and the validity of the credit file cannot be extended.

To qualify for a refund the fare must be still available for sale and must be for the same date, destination, and flight number.

If your price promise request is in respect of a booking that has been subject to a "flight transfer" or "name change" (see relevant paragraphs below), easyJet will not refund below the value of the original fare paid in the initial booking. All transfer fees and name change fees are non-refundable"

This can be found on their website, so I have answered my own question LOL.

The flight I am on is the 6am one so I was upset to see it priced at 88 pounds 3 weeks ago when I booked it but it is now half of that price!
So - have you contacted Easyjet? Or are you just expecting them to refund you the difference. If I were you I would politely contact them pointing out their policy.

duh-of course I have contacted them. As if they would contact me. Just goes to show that:
1) I should research before coming on here to ask a question
2) Dont take the opinion of others as fact as they could be wrong.

If I had gone by what the others were saying on here then I wouldnt have been eligible for the difference in price back.

I suppose now that I will get a few of you bullies judging me for daring to question your answers. I have come to expect it from AB but still ask questions as there are a few decent, educated members left.
