What make and model of router is it?
You can "rest" everything on the router and then set a new secuirty key.

You need to "logon" to the router (see the documentation that came with the router).
One thing I learned many years ago with computers is that if you set anything like this

WRITE IT DOWN SOMEWHERE.

I have a small booklet (paper based) with all the details of my various computers, the Windows keys, the router details, the email logon and acount details and so on.

If ever I need this sort of information I just go to my little booklet and look inside and their are the details.

Saves a lot of hassle in the long run.
>You can "rest" everything

Sorry that should say

You can "RESET" everything (back to default settings)
VHG,

Is resetting it to default a little drastic as a First answer.

surely logging into the routers admin pages and writing down the key is a easier option to try first?
(see the documentation that came with the router).

VHG

I would have thought if Lucy had the original documentation she would have access to the security key and wouldn't have posted her question in the first place!
