Citroen ZX Speaker upgrade

Hi, I have a citroen ZX Reflex 1994, and as far as i am aware it only has two speakers currently working, (the two front door speakers). Are there speakers in the back? I can see what looks like speakers under the rear windows on both sides but cannot hear any sound coming out of them, I am looking to get some new speakers for it anyway but if there aren't any rear speakers originally (which is my main worry) would i still be able to fit more speaker without too much hassle. Also how do i know which speakers will fit snug because the holes aren't exactly a normal round shape so how will new after market speakers fit without huge gaps around the edges?

Hi, as a rule of design the rear side / door speakers fit into a recess either in the door frame or the body framework of the car, if your car is a basic model I'm sure you will have only front speakers, the Speaker grills you see in the rear are ready to fit the Extra speakers in the recess within that panel, N/S + OFF/ S Check out EBay for your renewal speakers, enter you car details the site will come up with some if there are any for sale.

Thanx for your answers, in the back of the car behind those grills, will there be cables already there to fit new speakers or wil I have to put wiring in myself?

Hi, I cannot see there being speaker wires there, but If a previous owner has put some in then they may have left the wires there but I cannot see anyone going to the trouble to remove them.

How difficult would it be to put wires in, i'm not very electrically minded.

Hi, Drop the panel fist to see if there are any wires there if not & you want a neat job doing & from what you have stated, Electrically minded, let a auto electrician do the job as you can drop a clanger here by just touching one wrong wire, this is your safest route, If you cannot afford I will help you with this but take heed of what I have stated otherwise it could cost you a car!!!!
