hi,
i recently got a new OFCH system put in. before this my heating came from the back boiler from a solid fuel stove. the plan was to be able to use both systems to heat the house. since the OFCH was put in neither system is heating any of the upstairs radiators. all radiators were bled with a small amount of air but there was no change to the heating. can anyone help??

Sorry but that is too general a description of the fault to possibly diagnose what has changed for sure.
However if the downstairs CH still works it points to a lack of balancing of the water flows between upstairs and downstairs, resulting in upstairs getting less than it's fair share of pumped water through the pipes.
Without knowing how the heating technician tapped into the existing pipes it is pretty difficult to assist unless you can give more information.

the plumber that fitted the system tapped into the original heating system below the copper cylinder. so now both the solid fuel and the OFCH are feeding into the same cylinder. the pipes coming from the cylinder that is going upstairs is still cold. is it possible that the cylinder is airlocked???
if you need more information just ask and il try give as much as i can.
cheers
