I am working on a large table in a word document.

Half of the table is protected so no changes cannot be made except for the parts that have to be changed. I have done loads of typing in this part and because it is protected, I now cannot use spell check! Is there some sort of coding/general password I can use to unprotect this document? My other alternative is to save as a text file in a new document, do my spellchecks, highlight them and go into protected document and manually change corrections... and its 100 page document - HEEEEEELLLP!

Thanks alot.

unless you know the password for the protected area you're basically st*ffed!

If you're interested there's a technical article about re-enabling spell checking in protected forms.  http://word.mvps.org/faqs/macrosvba/SpellcheckProtectDoc.htm

can u still copy and paste the protected document, because you could copy it and then paste it onto a new table which would then allow you to spell check?

Nope, you cant copy and paste or use any of the tools however, ive found a way round:

I 'saved as' an .rtf file which allowed me to use the document as normal then selected 'unprotect' from the menu and press 'ok' when asked for password. You can then use the document as normal.... good eh?!

Cheers guys!

To remove the password with word password unlocker.
It recovers Word passwords for you to view and edit the file instantly. It recovers Password to Open and removes Password to Open and Password to Modify easily for Microsoft Word of all versions from 97 to 2007 .
