assuming 12/7 inches is the diameter of the pizza, and using A=pi D^2 / 4:

12" has area 113 square inches
2x7" has area 76 square inches

thus the 12 inch is larger in area.

Yep Fo3nix is correct, I bet the 12" one is cheaper than the 2x7" as well!

In fact a 10" pizza is marginally larger than two 7" pizzas.

area of 10" = 100 x PI / 4
area of 2x7" = 98 x PI / 4

but this is okay if everyone likes the topping on the 12" pizza...........2 x 7" would solve the issue of anchovies and olives or no anchovies and olives.
