Picture on Samsung LCD TV
3 Answers
I bought a 22" Samsung LCD TV for my bedroom in September. About 95% of the time the picture is fine, but occasionally the picture freezes for a second and then catches up and goes back to normal. Sometimes it will do this repeatedly (perhaps every few minutes) throughout whatever I happen to be watching, and sometimes it won't do it all.
I know it's near impossible to tell, but does this sound like it's more likely to be an issue with the signal/freeview reception/aerial etc, or the actual TV? It was purchased for when I moved into a new house, so I can't tell if it did the same previously with a different TV. Three other TV's in the house all work without any problems at all, which makes me think it may not be the aerial/signal?
Any ideas?
Thanks very much!

there is every possibility that there may be a minor problem with the wiring for the socket you have the TV pluged into so the first thing I would try is swapping it over with one of the other TVs and see if the problem follows the TV or stays with the socket (a lot of TVs have freeview TVs have a signal level meter somewhere in the settings so you may be able to see if the signal level changes if you move the TV)

As Chuck suggests, the cause of the problem is insufficient signal strength. Different TVs (and devices such as Freeview boxes and DVD recorders) have different 'sensitivities' (i.e. their ability to 'pull in' weak signals). your other sets can cope with a weak signal but your new one can't. A simple, cheap signal booster should fix the problem.
