it wouldn't be longitudial thinking else lateral would become latitudial, so if there was a longi -way of thinking, it would be called longial thinking.

I've come up wih the right spelling but i don't think it does exist. Which doesnt make sense because there isn't a wrong or right way of spelling a word that doesn't exist, but thats how it would be spelt if it did exist, most probably.
What a great subject to bring up at the pub!
