River Eden?
Hi delta_golf. Are you sure it is 5/4? I have just finished a local church quiz and we had the same question, but ours was 7/4. I put Miltons Well. Hope that helps.
Question Author
sorry, it was 7/4. Why miltons well?
Hi delta_golf. Admittedly it is a bit tenuous because out of the 50 questions I was also stuck with this one. However there is a small place near Upper Slaughter in Glos called Eyeford and Miltons Well emanates from there. It fits the clue beautifully but my concern is that it is not widely known. Google it and let me know what you think.
Question Author
yes I suppose R.C. Skyring Walters' poem about this well in 'Paradise Lost' could be to do with it.
But can this really be classed as a 'Water' Even though it does fit perfectly? Media URL: http://people.bath.ac.uk/liskmj/living-spring/sourcearchive/ns2/ns2lh1.htm(Optional) Enter URL
Description:
Yes but look at W.H.Plowden's poem. I agree that it is tenuous but I don't think you can doubt that a well is a source of water and as such fits the bill. But hey please let me know if you can think of anything better.
