Changes to AnswerBank

When, last year, there were major changes to AB my use of site was somewhat reduced although I know many of the problems encountered then have been resolved. Yesterday was the first time I asked a question for a while so maybe someone would be kind enough to tell me
1. Should I be getting email notice of replies? Yesterday I posed a question did not receive notice but looking back there were two replies. I added an answer and funnily enough an email has popped up this time as I was typing this - have I missed an instruction?
2. I regularly look in for help with weekend crosswords where most of the niggles seem to have been sorted and I usually get help from answers already given. Just one thing in 'the old days' if I looked up an answer when going back the page went back to where it was but now it seems to go only to top of that page and I need to scroll down again - any chance of returning to original format?
