time's winged chariot. St Catherine's attribute is the wheel, but I don't know where DF comes in, maybe it's someone else too.

I think there's a Dame Fortune in a tarot deck .She spins the wheel and what have you and you get to know if you are going to win the lottery :)
The reference to Major (John) in clue btw is from his lines from some naff stuff he wrote about " spinsters cycling to evensong," all about what evokes a typical English Sunday ,which ties in with Audens Miss Gee .
