Realism

Hi,
I am currently writing a script for a short movie, and in this movie a guy is beat up in the middle of the night. He is stabbed in the stomach, but not vitally and is beaten with clubs. He then walks 6 kms in the cold before getting to a house.
What would be the right treatment of this? Would it be to cut up his clothes, disinfect the wounds and give him a warm bath to regain heat? The hospital is NOT an option!

Thanks a bunch - I just want some realism in the story.
