I was a self employed insurance saleswoman for a brief period, during which I attended a bbq weekend with my company, with one night in a hotel. I was told this had to be attended unless I had a very good reason not to. I quit 2-3 weeks later and now, some months later, I have received a bill for £40. I've yet to plough thru my contract on where I stand but can someone advise me please?

Its only £40, ignor it, they arn't exactly going to take you to court for it!
Whether you are liable may depend on what the £40 is for. Is it a bill for your accommodation, the corporate meal or for your bar bill or for accommodation for a spouse?

Factor it's not clear. Hubby and I attended, had a hotel room for one night, the bbq and breakfast. I actually said beforehand that, as I don't drink, we could have driven the 8 miles back home rather than have the room!

Telephone - I'm not paying. Let them whistle for it. Just wondered if others have had a similar experience.
