We'e just had another 3-4 ins in Derwentside, Co Durham, that must make the total snowfall about 12-14 ins. It did snow on Christmas Day here. Sky looks heavy so there could be more on the way. Have a nice day everyone.

its great isn't it. although i am getting a bit fed up with the shock! horror! snow! schools closed! traffic jams! headlines every 5 minutes. its just snow.

hehe, know what you mean Ankou. We got a letter from school yesterday saying if it carried on snowing they'd close today. Just checked their website now though and its still open- thank God!

Our schools are shut, and the buses aren't running. It's not like we had that much.

Morning all, I'm just down the road from Derwentside HBL and it is pretty grim..lol
grandsons school is closed, just a case of hiking the heating up and staying in today, I feel sorry for the poor folk who don't have "built in" babysitters tho' having said that my daughter was able to work to work at the local dentist, son in law still trying..lol

good for the teachers to turn up and keep the school open.
sadly some cherubic angel though might get hit with a snowball and the parents sue the school - i presume this is why most try to avoid opening ?!

kids need to get out and get some brisk fresh air after being cooped up with cabin fever all over christmas.

It's forecast for more snow today. I think the schools are more worried of the 'what if's'. What if the kids get stranded at school....
