HELP !!!!! All desktop icons are gone !!!

Hi ! I'm panicking a bit here . I've just downloaded Limewire, and then I changed my desktop background. Now all the icons on my desktop are gone ! What can I do ??? Is it possible that I picked up a virus ? I'm running AVG and Zone Alarm, and they didn't pick up anything. Heeelp !

Close your computer and restart

I did that. No change. Limewire is a P2P file sharing software. Should I delete the program ?

What about using Sytem Restore if you have it.

Ahhhhhhhhh ! Thank you guys ! I don't know what happened there, but i fumbled around in the menus and the option "show all desktop icons" reappeared when i right-cliked on the blank desktop !!! I don't know what all that was about and why i didn't have the option before....anyway, thank you for your help guys ! I'm soooo relieved !!! Off to splash my face with cold water now !

Limeware is a very good P2P sharing site, but be careful what you download and what you allow others to see on your hard drive.  Don't let anyone have your email address. Always scan any downloads with AVG before opening them.
Trojans, spyware and viruses are rife on Limewire,

Right click your desktop.  Goto Arrange icons by and then make sure show desktop items is ticked.

Yes Kerplunk, that's what I did to make them come back, but I didn't have this option at first, that's why I panicked ! Anyway, all is well now, so thanks you all for your anwers ! :-)

PS : Ray The DJ : Do you know how I go about scanning one particular file with AVG after I've downloaded it with Limewire ? I can't find this option.

Not sure about AVG but most anti-virus progs can scan individual files by right clicking on the file in Windows Explorer.
