Now that the news is reporting that various government agency are asking for owners of 4 by 4 vehicles for help. Does that mean that this type of car is now considered essentail to keeping the country running.
Thus I expect to see tax incentives to encourage people to buy 4 by 4 cars.

Although i have a 4X4 purely as a work horse,It seems that the rich people who live somewhere south of London,
Seem to think that a 4X4 is essential as soon as they see a leaf on the road, this is the kind of behaviour that will cause road tax to be increased on these vehicles.

A 4x4 is essential ...

How else can you look down on all the other motorists from the comfort of a heated leather seat the size of an armchair?

Hmm?

How else?

You see ... essential.

Mine has coped with the snow ok ...

Still better than a normal car.

Love it and converted to the high ride a 4 by 4 gives you.
Also better economy than standard car.
I average 40 to 45mpg in mine. With air con on 10% less in the summer.
I'm a convert too, SIRandy ... I love mine.

My other car is an eensy weensy little MGF, so a bit of a contrast !!

If I had to choose between the two now, I'd keep the Land Cruiser.

That would explain why I saw a number of police in army Land Rovers yesterday!

X5s are probably stuck on a piece of wet grass somewhere!

My brother and his wife have two cars, a prius and a 4x4. They live in the countryside and only use the 4x4 if they're both going to work on the same day (not often), when they are actually going off-road or when it snows.
