Can anyone tell me more about a vintage ad for Accurist currently airing in which John Cleese features promoting watches.

When was it made? Is the location Alton Towers?
1976. Yes it is. It was filmed near the corkscrew.

Rubbish. Corkscrew didn't arrive until 1980.
No I meant the area of land near the corkscrew's present situation, so you would know roughly in the park where I meant.

According to YouTube, the series of award winning Accurist ads with John Cleese came out in 1978.
There is an old Lego commercial being re-run at the moment, one voiced by Tommy Cooper. Together with the Milky Way "red and blue car had a race", they must be some of the oldest ads being shown. Money is short, ad agencies are being asked to save money by not making commercials from scratch.
It wasn't Tommy Cooper, it was an impressionist.
The Accurist ad was located at the chinese pagoda fountain which is at the lowest part of the valley, also it looks like in one of the conservatories.
