Nannies win again!
Although I suspect that many of you will be from 'Southern Britain' and wont have heard of the 'grand Match' or Bonspiel as known locally, you will be aware of the increasing dominance of the jobsworths and oh so politically correct eejits who are ruining the social life of our country.
The grand match is a curling event held usually once in a lifetime on the Lake of Menteith near Aberfoyle, Scotland. This can attract thousands of curlers and spectators from all over the country and is only held whne the ice is at least 7" thick.
Given the current conditions it was widely expected to be held this weekend and the ice is over 7" thick at present. However, the police and Stirling Council (who cannot even grit our roads or collect our bins) have decided to ban the event as they cannot guarantee public safety. These are the people who are prohibiting all sorts of events e.g. football matches, for the same reasons.
Well I for one will be on the ice this weekend!

Scotlands world curling champion , David Murdoch, has criticised the decision to cancel the bonspiel. According to 'The Herald' he says " The ice is thick enough and it would take a truck to go over the top to make it crack. .....some are too scared to let it happen". The organisers described the ice as "perfect". So its all down to the Nannies!
