Allow me to start the thread this week, as I believe DocHH said he'd be, um, off-piste till Wednesday. (No word if he's pist.... - never mind.)

A well-constructed puzzle as always, but the payoff did not do much for me, I'm afraid. In the immortal words of Peggy Lee:

Hello everyone,
Herself's postal relief arrived today! Am now more or less crossworded out. EV was nowhere as demanding as I had expected, she had read out the rubric to me on sunday. Devadolly a really nice Jeremy Vine scarf would not go amisss here, still 4inches of snow on the drive. At the risk of annoying MatyDalover, again, the problem is getting off the Estate and onto the main roads!

Working on that Ringer, my computer and rodent seem to be playing up, has been quite annoying today! The rodent decides when it wants to click, and at times even where it wants to click! This evening I was typing to post on EV 8977 and the screen went blank, a bit like my mind at times! Then I was back at "EV 897 Iffy" and no sign of a contribution from me. Typed again, clicked "submit answer" and there I was twice, and even two slightly different posts! Just a senior moment, I suppose, not sure if it was me or an aging laptop! At least I did manage this weeks challenge, which given what Herself read to me is surprising!
Are your Maths/Hard maths/extra hard maths students sitting their A level(?) Exams now? Good luck to them all if they are.
