the drive belt is driving the air con pully but when I switch the air con on, the clutch does not engage to drive the aircon unit. How do I check if the drive unit is receiving the correct signal when the switch is pressed. The small light on the switch is coming on. Can you advise if the power to the clutch type thing is comming via a relay, in which case it could just be the fuse I guess.

Thanks

Nick

It could be one of three things. Solenoid on the clutch or a relay, though unlikely, they have been known to fail. Most likely it  will be a fuse as you suspect. If no luck there a meter across the terminals of the solenoid, if accessable, will tell you more.
