The answers to all the ctyptic clues are UK towns or cities. Out of 50 I am stuck on 4 and they are.
1.Pick one off her to do this quiz , 2. Painful for Shakespeare's bare feet, 3. The dogs are all mad here and 4. A shellfish by the ocean ( I would like this to be Snailbeach but I cannot believe that a snail is a shellfish!) Thanks in advance to anyone who can help

could the shellfish be Swansea as there is a swan mussel?

Thank you Polly1958 and Strathspey for your help, I am happy with Swansea. You may have noticed two errors in my question. I cannot spell cryptic and the first clue should have read 'Pick one off here to do this quiz' (her should have read here) As you are both obviously very good at this try this one 'Arise in a Yorkshire meadow' I want to put Uplees but my wife does not like that answer. (yes, I am a male Coalgirl, I tried Coalman but it was not available!) I think I will repeat the first question as the error may have put someone off
