I thought a nail was one sixteenth of a yard- that is 5.715 centimetres. Maybe 5.7 is near enough
Is it a crossword clue? Is the number of letters known?
Hi factor30, www.dictionary.com defines nail as 2.14 ins or 6.4 cms, I see Nail has been given as the answer by others on AB as the solution to this one.
Thanks boxtops.
If your extract from dictionary.com was quoted exactly from their site then that site must be wrong somewhere because 2.14 inches certainly does not equal 6.4 cm
