I've just switched from Internet Explorer to Firefox as a result of the German Government's warning about the serious security risks to Internet Explorer. When I used IE I could keep "My Favourites (websites) permantly on view in the background, just by clicking on "My Favourites". This doesn't seem to work with Firefox. Is there a way of doing it?

Err... what German Government warning?
I'm not sure what you mean by 'in the background'. If you simply want your bookmarks to appear in a sidebar, press 'Ctrl' and 'b' together.

I've just changed too and found if I went to "File, Import" I could get all my favourites into the "Bookmark" of Firefox. From there is a folder "From Internet Explorer" where the favourites are. Hope this is OK for you!
Thanks for that Buenchico. Do you think it would be worth my while downloading Firefox?
Hi, NoMercy:

I think that my answer to your question will be obvious from what I've just posted in another thread ;-)

When downloading Firefox, make sure that you get the British (rather than the US) version. It's here:
