Has Striker finished in the Sun?

If anyone follows the comic "Striker" in the Sun , can they tell me what has happened to it. Is it on hiatus or gone for ever?

I have followed it for a while and was aware the storyline was reaching a conclusion of sorts but missed it on saturday.

The website for it is never updated so I'm hoping someone here knows.

As far as i know it has stopped, i couldn't find the strip in saturdays paper and it had been replaced by some other crap today. No mention of why from the sun itself, probably fobbed them off like last time when the creator of striker started the comic. It's a shame too as striker was the main reason i bought the sun!

Hi i typed 'striker in the sun' into google and looked at the striker wiki that appeared. Near the bottom it says that the striker creator Pete Nash circulated an email five weeks ago after people complained that striker was missing from the sun one saturday, he went on to say that the friday 18th sept strip of striker in the sun would be the last as he felt he had carried it as far as he could and wanted to go out on a high with it.

Thanks for your answer . Thats rather unfortunate - however if the writer wants out then its his prerogative.

I assume that he would not let someone else write the strip.
