All the little Haiti babies/orphans are on their way to America for adoption. However there are many more children in such as bad situations who are staying where they are. Media rules.

African children born into nearly certain early death.

Who cares about that now?

Haiti is the main thing.

Media.

God bless you.

Or the other guy.

Suffering is worldwide, sometimes constantly.

Well done.

so, what exactly? You're criticising people for not adopting African children? I would have thought you can adopt anyone you please and it's totally your decision.

Who have you adopted?
Plus I also think you only half watched the news story that you're talking about....

The Haiti babies they featured were the ones already in an orphanage and awaiting the red tape to be cleared for their already being processed adoptions. Due to the fact that their orphanage has been obiterated and they're now reduced to shacking up in the grounds of their former home- that process has been speeded up.

Surely you can't find fault in this?
I trust you're doing your bit for those you care more for..
Oh you needn't worry about the African orphans. Madonna and Brangellina will take care of them.

I don't see anything racist in that at all.

However I think it's a good argument for giving money to the major charities to help relieve the immediate and acute suffering that happens in the immediate aftermath of major disaters like this.

They are best placed to use that to get sewerage and water working, to get immediate shelter and food to a large number of people who would otherwise die.

Wading in and trying to adopt survivors yourself? - sounds a bit like playing God or Competetive compassion out of control.

You know competeive compassion - you see it on here all the time where people just have to show how *very* much they care - the implication being that that makes them a better person
Didn't you read my reply up there Jake?

As ive already said, the children mentioned were ones already in orphanages and already awaiting adoptions. All that as happened is that the process has been speeded up due to the tragedy. Folk aren't going into the streets, plucking children up from the ground and stating "I'll have this one"
