A funny thing happened to me at the supermarket yesterday.

After grocery shopping yesterday afternoon, I was recovering with a quick mug of decaf in the supermarket cafe, when something very odd happened. This complete stranger (male) walked up to my table, plonked down a bunch of red roses and said something like (shock prevented me registering the exact phrase) 'These are for you. I think you look gorgeous.' He then walked off into the distance.
I feel it is only fair to point out I was looking anything but gorgeous in jeans and an ill-fitting T-shirt, at the time. Bizarre or what? Perhaps he was having a mid life crisis, or is a serial rose giver and does this every Friday.
Has anything weird like this ever happened to you?

A lady of about 50 pushed a very old dear in a wheelchair into the cafe.
When i say old,she was older than us (87 & 86 respectively).
She then walked off,we assumed she was queueing for food etc.
After 10 minutes we had finished and went to find our son.
10 minutes after this we were approached by the 50 year old lady, who was red faced and looked quite annoyed.
She said (and I quote) "How dare you leave mu Mother on her own!"
It seems she saw we were old and thought we would be good people to keep an eye on her mother while she shopped!(although she never asked,or said so)
It turned out that she assumed we too had been "parked",and when she realised that we could MOVE and did she panicked.
We had to laugh about it,although the poor woman didn't seem to find it funny, she went away muttering to herself.
I think that her mother was probably in her 90's.
We said to Aaron (our son) that we didn't want to be "parked" next time! LOL

Well i have three things to say.
Number one being that his chatup lines have a lot to be desired as how are you meant to gauge someones reaction, spark up a convesation and take a phonenumber if you've already walked away?
Number two, i reckon that he had his girlfriend nearby and had just finished arguing and gave you the flowers to p!ss her off before stomping off.
Number three which is a bit more daunting, that this person knows who you are and may have been stalking you.

Yes, I had a strange encounter with an American Serviceman almost exactly a year ago at Paddington Station. He showered me with compliments and asked if he could take me out to dinner. I was caught completely off guard and wasn't in the best of moods anyway. It was my parents' anniversary and I had a huge journey ahead of me, and just wanted to get home. I gave him the brush off but he wasn't deterred and kept on trying to chat me up until I told him I was "spoken for". At that point he retreated gracefully. I regretted my aloofness the next day.
I was once left a beautiful bouquet of flowers at the reception at work and with it was a card with a name and telephone number.
When I rang the number this guy said he'd been at the same club as me the previous week, and found out my name and where I worked from one of the friends I was with.
I had to not only turn him down but give the gorgeous flowers to a colleague as my then husband was picking me up from work.....doh.
