security lighting

I don't know if I'm in the correct section for this question but I'll ask nevertheless. I have two 500w security lights to the rear of my property which are both connected to the same isolation switch, they both have a P.I.R. sensor on them when I switch them off, to replace the bulb or for maintenance, they both used to stay on for a certain length of time, then switch off. One of the lights has decided to start playing up as it doesn't go off anymore, I have tried switching them off, leaving for 10 minutes, then switching them on again, I have altered the length of time to 30 minutes and even an hour, but as soon as they are switched back on again, one of the lights remains on. Can any of you technology experts advice me what to do, this has happened once before and I managed to sort it out but I cannot remember what I did as the memory isn't what it used to be. Thanks in advance.

The switch works 2 lights and the other light works fine when it is switched back on again, so it can't be the switch, I spoke to somebody a while ago after I had disconnected the power and it had started playing up, and he told me to switch the light off for ?? minutes then switch it on again and it would re-set the light. Unfortunately I can't remember how long it was to be switched off for as I lost the message, I have tried different times but to no avail
