MRI Scans

Off for an MRI on my neck tomorrow, never been for one before, been told no make up and no clothes with zips or metal but I was just wondering if there is anything else I ought to know? I have not been told much at all about it

this might sound daft, but ive often wondered how they did one of these scans on someone who is much larger than the average sized person.. the tunnel doesnt seem all that big to be able to accommodate such a large frame?

there is differant sizes of machines,i got a brain scan and it lasted half an hour,,they gave me ear plugs and choice of music,also put a buzzer in my hand,when i was in the machine they talked me through the whole procedure,it was very noisy,like workmen using drills in the road.the staff was brilliant though,knew there stuff.

All done and dusted! A new experience! I was afraid my head would be at the end that wasn't open (and both ends are open) and that it would be dark ( used to have a recurring bad dream so I think that's why I was worried) but it was ok, VERY paranoid about staying still and I was very conscious about my breathing and trying not to cough but it was fine. Thanks everyone for all the advice, it was so helpful, always best to be forewarned! Bad or good experiences! xxx
